Polished Concrete Floors

Polished concrete floors are considered part of modern construction techniques. Although it has been on the market for several years now, it has become a trend thanks to its easy maintenance, strength and durability.

These qualities, together with its mirror-like finished concrete, have made it a trend in commercial and industrial properties, warehouses, logistics centres, factories , airports, museums or any public space.

Polished Concrete Applications

  • Polished concrete is recommended for large concrete surfaces such as industrial buildings or factories, shopping centres, car parks, distribution centres, warehouses.
  • This is a more than resistant option, taking advantage of its hardness and resistance. Compare with PVC, Epoxy Resin.
  • Ideal for floors exposed to high use, high traffic and a large flow of goods.
  • A highly durable floor that is easy to clean and maintain

Polished Concrete Advantages

  • There is no limitation on the shape.
  • It has high impact resistance.
  • Affordable price. It is very economical.
  • Ideal for flooring large areas in a short time.
  • Excellent durability.
  • It reduces the absorption of the surface.
  • Aesthetic.
  • Easy to keep clean.
  • Resistant to intense traffic.
  • Resistant to chemical attacks and wear (detergents, oils, diluted acids, fuels).
  • With a special treatment it can easily acquire anti-slip capacity.
  • It admits repolishing.

DIAMOND POLISHED CONCRETE

WHAT IS DIAMOND POLISHED CONCRETE?

Diamond polished concrete is a traditional, smooth or waxed concrete that can be used for both domestic and industrial flooring. It takes its name from the diamond polishing that has been carried out on its surface.

This technique has many advantages and makes concrete even more interesting for the construction or renovation of floors.

THE CONCRETE POLISHING STEPS

Any concrete slab can be polished. The principle is simple and is carried out in a few steps.

Firstly, depending on the nature of the floor, its imperfections and its possible covering, the concrete must be cleared of any unwanted surface and also levelled and put back to a homogeneous level. To do this, we sand the concrete and enter the material.

Then comes the step of polishing the concrete itself. The diamonds will open up the surface of the concrete floor and refine it to give it an impeccable finish.

The fine porosity of the floor will be removed by filling the concrete and then the hardening agents will close the surface and densify the concrete to give it exceptional strength. As a result, your rough and porous floor will have gained in durability, aesthetics and characteristics such as resistance to stains and solvents.
